A Stop in Bern On Our Way to Lucerne

We headed to Bern, the capitol of Switzerland. Our mouths' dropped open as we came down the hill, approaching the old city. How beautiful!

Our first stop was the famous bear park. Lots of stories about why bears are the symbol of Berne but no one really knows for sure. They were fun to watch and we spent about an hour there. (Our guide kept bathroom stops in mind.  VBG)

Our visit included a walking tour of the old town. We had perfect weather and enjoyed the walk and sightseeing.

Our final stop in Berne was at the old clock tower, built in 1191, waiting while it struck the hour.
