Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative

The WHTI becomes fully effective June 1, 2009.

Currently, for air travel, all persons entering or re-entering the U.S. must have a valid passport.

For travel by land or sea, currently photo ID (such as a driver's license) and an official copy of a birth certificate is acceptable.

That all changes on June 1st.

Be prepared. If you'll be traveling and entering or re-entering the U.S., apply for your passport now!
